Claire has worked with parents and children for over 35 years. In addition to providing consultation and education for parents with children of all ages, she consults with preschool teachers and family childcare providers about early childhood mental health and optimal childcare environments. Claire specializes in parent/child communication, social and emotional development, and parenting adolescents. She also teaches in the Child Development Department at Santa Rosa Junior College and at Sonoma State University.
Tracy has worked with children and their families for the past 20 years as a public health nurse, school nurse, drug education coordinator, and facilitator of coming-of-age workshops. She is a member of the Teen Health Advocacy Coalition of Sonoma County. She is the mother of two adult daughters.
Mary has more than 20 years of clinical experience, having received her MA from Loyola Marymount University in art therapy. She has expertise in helping to ensure a solid social/emotional foundation for preschool-aged children, emotionally disturbed children, and adolescents.
Alissa has 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and individual adults. She received her BA from Harvard, where she subsequently worked at the Medical School researching causes and treatments for depressive disorders. She then received her MA from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She draws from an eclectic background of training, including psychodynamic theory, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, and expressive arts. Her goal is to help clients to lead more authentic, fulfilling lives.
Liz has been working with children and families for nearly ten years. She has worked extensively with foster children, at-risk youth, and adopting families.
For more than 30 years, Barbara Joy has offered education, encouragement, and insight to parents, drawing on her clinical background in child development and nursing. She has many specializations, including LifeBooks (a program to support and enhance bonding for families formed by adoption), children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses, and education and support for mothers in recovery. She is also a Positive Parenting coach. Her first book, Easy Does It, Mom, was published in May 2009. She has three grown children and four young grandchildren.
Amy has worked with young children and their families for over 30 years. She has an MA in education with an emphasis on early childhood and counseling. She is the founder and director of Childkind Preschool and operates three programs for children ages 2 – 12. She is the adoptive mother of two daughters.
Bridget is an actress and director with many years’ experience teaching theater arts, movement, and improvisation to children and adults. She currently directs the Santa Rosa Children’s Theater program and performs at the 6th St. Playhouse. She is the mother of three school-aged children.
Ann has many years of experience providing parenting support to families. She specializes in positive discipline for the preschool years and in helping school-aged children become self-motivated and enthusiastic learners through developing good study habits.
Bonnie has been working with children and families for 20 years. Trained as a Waldorf teacher and group facilitator, she has been an early childhood teacher, preschool director, and founding member of the Great Oaks School in the Chicago area. Her work with children under 3 and their parents led her to the Touchpoints work as well as the RIE I training program. She has served on the governing body of both the Chicago Waldorf School and the Great Oaks School and as secretary for the Preschool Council of Evanston. Bonnie worked with at-risk teens for the Youth-At-Risk community program, as well as with birth parents and adoptive parents. She is certified as a teacher of Jane Nelson's "Parenting the Positive Discipline Way." Parent education and support have always been a part of her work.
Ofer is a licensed psychologist, psychotherapist, and forensic consultant. He is the director of the Zur Institute, which offers online courses for psychotherapists and health professionals. He teaches, consults, and writes on the psychology of the Web, the impact of technology on children and families, online gaming, and Internet addiction.
