Her talk will be about "Discovering Who Has Come to Live with You: Discipline Strategies that 'Fit' Each Child." Why are some children boisterous while others are quiet? Why are some kids eager to participate while others must be cajoled? Why are some kids impossible to dress because the tags in their shirt are unbearable? By understanding each child's preferred style of interacting with the world, you can select the most effective discipline tools to maximize their strengths and minimize their challenges. Known for her real-life examples, Mary Sheedy Kurcinka links research-based information with typical challenging behaviors and provides neurobiology, the importance of sleep, and emotion coaching into homes, schools, medical practices, and businesses.  Her presentations have helped hundreds of thousands of parents and professionals to understand children better, and themselves as well.

Lecture Location: The Glaser Center, 547 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa    Sponsored by Sonoma Family Life magazine.
